Nobody needs them to buy.
If they are promoted too widely, Google will sue and take them away for free.
Other players who could buy them for at least some acceptable amount will not want to mess with Google.

Google usually lowers such clones in the search results - you can forget about the search results.
If you make a clone site, you can collect password databases and sell them.
You can run your ad before the video, embed your ad blocks, while pulling up the main information from YouTube itself.

Damn, again for the dumb. The domain cannot "be". The domain is leased. Any registrar. So taking it back is easier than sending two bytes :) While no one knows about them - Google put it on it. As soon as a noticeable fuss begins on some - Google ... no, not even to court - he will simply write to the registrar. And he will quickly find violations in the contract on your part and say - either stop <something>, or we will terminate the contract.
So they don't cost anything.
