What to do if the built-in microphone does not work in a laptop?

The microphone built into the laptop does not work.
The built-in microphone in the laptop stops working when headphones are connected to it, while everything worked before. I don’t know exactly when it stopped working, but I suspect that after the update. OS: Windows 10.

The built-in microphone in the laptop stops working when headphones are connected to it, while everything worked before

- Does it work without headphones? is it important to understand if it is working
- just headphones? Or is it still a headset, with its own microphone (is it working?). in this case, win10 will default to the headset microphone. if this case - to resolve the settings. in general, for communication via skype and similar programs, gaonitura is preferable in all respects. the most important - there is no looping of sound from the speakers into the microphone

Start - in the search, enter 'sound' and find 'Change sound card settings', open and select the 'Record' tab, see what is available to you when a headset is inserted and when not (the list and properties change)
