What to do if content is stolen?

They started stealing content from my site, and the most annoying thing is that it is unique and it takes a lot of time to create it, and one huge site steals everything from me as a carbon copy, and the search engines think that I steal from them and generally put me in the top 1000 issuance, and before they started stealing I was in the top 3. I wrote to them many times, and in response they send me cursing. What to do?

Or maybe try to make the copyright law work for the benefit of the population, and not for everyone there?
We created a document, printed it out, sent it to ourselves by registered mail, DO NOT OPEN.
After there is a documented date of creation of the letter (at the time of sending) and the letter is with you, we place it on the site. We monitor, as soon as competitors have posted it, we go to the notary, we notarize the fact that on HH Day an article was posted on the site XXHUUUUZZZ.
We go to court, a registered letter is opened at the court, it is fixed that the content is the same, but yours earlier, which proves your copyright, then everything depends on the skill of lawyers and the amount of moral damage.
Yes, I am a naive optimist, but at least there is a law on the media (you can cheat, but with an indication of the source), the Civil Code (protects a literary work) ...

The hardest option is to testify before a notary.
And to court.
The site of the thief is banned. All his efforts to promote - merge.
Even without a trial, you can try to write with the same claims to the hoster.
If he is Russian, then he understands perfectly well that he can easily lose his IP - he does not need it.
If it is foreign, then they are serious about copyright.
Out-of-court option:
Registration of unique content in the search engine. Yandex has a special section for this

https://yandex.ru/support/webmaster/authored-texts...

As an option for Yandex - https://yandex.ru/support/webmaster/authored-texts...
Another option is to make search engines see new texts, and users see them only after indexing.

I saw a script that swapped letters when copy-pasted.
It turned out that the text on the site is normal, but if you copy it, it turns out to be an enbor ubk.
I think you can ask a question about such a script in Google?

Copy, most likely, by RSS. If so, then:
1. You can delay the publication in the RSS feed, ie. an article will appear on your site, and only after an hour or a day (as you set up a delay) it will get into RSS, so the article will get to the thief site only after it is indexed by search engines and you will be the primary source in their eyes and rank higher.
A more global way is to close the RSS feed.
2. Prohibit hotlinking - showing your pictures on other sites. Also, instead of pictures, you can slip an image, which will indicate that the article is copied from your site.
3. After that, a letter to the host.
And, of course, before publication, add all articles to the original texts.

Good content means write once they steal) I advise you to continue writing in the same spirit and not for the sake of a place in the search engine, but for the sake of doing any business, then according to the law of karma everything should shoot)

Can make inserts with display:none style and prescribe the source, so it will be clear who stole from whom. But by and large, it is not possible to fully protect, if someone needs to keep everything exactly, they will kill it with their hands on the edge.

Use pinging to notify the search engine that your text has been posted first. Then the search engines will assume that you are not stealing, but from you.
https://blogs.yandex.ru/pings/
blogsearch.google.com/ping
For popular CMS, as a rule, there are already ready-made modules that implement sending a ping immediately after placing a new text.

First, add the text to the original Yandex texts, and then publish it, there are also addurils (quickly adding site addresses to the PS), and, as an option, automatic auto-posting of the announcement on the social network

You can block bots stealing content by User-Agent in htaccess. The bot database can always be bought on Platiru for three kopecks. Of course, this is not a 100% solution to the problem, but most of the parsers and grabbers can be discarded. Up-to-date at the beginning of 2018
