What to choose, PhoneGap, native programming language or what else?

There was an idea to implement a mobile client for a self-written CMS (I did not write it). It is necessary to implement the creation / reading / deletion of data.
This implementation will be in the form of a small demo, ie. you need to do it beautifully in the shortest possible time. If you like the demo, then develop a full-fledged application.
I know html, css, js at a fairly good level, now I'm starting to learn PHP, I'm completely zero in design.
What can you advise and where to dig?

I think PhoneGap is perfect for you. Unless you need to choose js and front-end frameworks - this topic seems to be useful. And the back-end can be customized at your discretion, just a JSON exchange.
