There is knowledge in JS
but I haven’t come across unity yet

Do not listen to those who unsubscribed here, they are little familiar with the architecture of Unity, Unity is written in C and C ++ mainly, APIs are written in C # and JS to access the necessary "arsenal", so choose what you know.
JS is more popular and therefore there will be no problems with the future team, and the language is very simple both in support and in initial development.
C# gives a lot of "sugar" as for me too much, the funny thing is that I have been working as a C# and Python programmer for several years and therefore I can say for sure that if you want to launch a project in a "soon" time and don't know C#, but you know JS or don't know neither one nor the other, then the choice for you is definitely JS, but if you know C # or want to learn it, then choose it.

Get the latest edition. When I read them, it was the 4th edition, 11th year. There may be more now.
After:
The aspects of writing native code in Python are very well revealed.
