What to choose for mobile development Windows Phone or Android?

Good day to all. Here's the situation:
I'm 35 years old, I work as an administrator - enikey manager in one organization. And for a long time I had a desire to retrain as a freelance programmer.
For myself, I chose the direction of mobile development. But now I am faced with a dilemma, what should I choose C # and Windows Phone or Java and Android? I myself am a fan of Windows Phone and the Microsoft ecosystem, and I like C# as a language more. But the prospects and market share of the platform from Microsoft are very confusing. I would love to hear your opinion and thanks in advance to all who responded.

on the one hand, there are not very many applications on wp and there is less competition, on the other hand, the share of android is certainly not comparable to winphone. If high competition does not bother you, then I would advise Android

It is worth approaching this way:
1. Assess the competition in the market and the demand for applications, yes, the share of android is larger, but there are much more applications in the market (is it a question of quality). Go to the freelance site and see where there are more orders, what they are.
2. Look at the language that you are more familiar with / like: java / obj c / c# but do not forget that there is still the opportunity to write native code.
3. Look at the SDK of these platforms, which is more like it (for me, it's about the same thing)

I myself love Apple and all their products (iOS, MacOS). But I develop exclusively for wp. This is the best os for development for me. Microsoft puts a lot of effort into developing something on their platform, contests, support, help, etc. Yes, and c# is loved and familiar. IMHO.

Android. Today, more and more smartphones with this OS are being released. As a result, there will be demand.

ios .... yes, yes, I read the question carefully, moreover, I myself am an android developer and have never been an apple fan, but you are 35 and, as I understand it, there is no development experience. Although ios is more expensive to start (hardware), it is much easier in terms of development.

Or maybe look towards writing cross-platform technologies? Capture both WP and Android and iOS?
At first I wanted to write for two platforms, but now I have stopped only on Android. Although there is competition, it does not affect good applications. But making money from advertising has become more difficult ...
