What to build a home server from?

There is a need for a home server. The system will be ubuntu, the question is in the hardware.
Tasks:

  • Connecting to a Printer
  • Local storage (photo/video/music
  • Game server (128mb ram is enough for the desired game)
  • Local web interface (task manager)
  • Can be stream music from storage

I would also very much like compactness and budget.
What can you advise? (I looked in the direction of raspberry / orange pi, but there are only sd cards or a connection via usb, but I would like to connect a disk via sata for speed (maybe it will be ssd)).

Every city has a second hand store. You can choose from there for a penny, for example, a laptop with a broken screen. In the basement itself there is an ancient, dead Pentium 4 with an ubuntu server - enough for the eyes.

Well, it's not a question, it is necessary to at least voice the budget.
so there are a lot of solutions, here already voiced, used laptop, netbook, hp microserver and, for example, assembly on mini-ITX with an integrated processor, in an appropriate case

For example, a cubeboard has a sata connector, and the Chinese began to appear on aliexpress with delicious nettops with beautiful looks and interesting insides.
Almost every router, hdd or ssd can now be connected via a usb box, dlna can also be new, so you need to build on the requirements of the task manager and the toy server.

Here are the best options:
Cubieboard
piDuino (or pcDuino)
Here are the others:
Orange Pi
Banana Pi
I don't recommend them, but I'll leave them here for a complete list.
You can also look here , focus on the pictures, see where there is sata.
