What threatens a freelancer with not returning an advance payment?
Hello! The situation is this, I work as an individual directly with customers, the customer has introduced an advance payment equal to the full cost of the service to a bank card. No contracts were signed. It had to be done urgently to your satisfaction. The customer did not like the result of the work and asked to redo everything again, but with his terms of reference. I refused to remake, as well as refused to return the money. He said that he was ready to hand over the work as is. After that, the customer disappeared.
Tell me, what is the threat? Should I be worried that the customer may sue or something?

In general, accepting payment with money on a card is a bad idea, because there are mechanisms that allow you to throw the recipient!
There is a certain period during which this can be done, so if the money is still with you, rejoice, they will not catch up with you :-) but for the future, keep in mind that the probability of rolling the money back is by no means zero...
You deceived the customer at the moment when you took the money without TK. And now you are still trying to whitewash yourself somehow, although most likely you initially knew how everything would be.
You do not need to agree to work at all if you are not sure what you will do like a god to make the client happy.
