What technologies to use to write your own protocol based on a factory wifi card?

What are the possibilities for managing a wifi adapter outside of its conceptual purpose?
At what level can you access the radio part of the adapter?
Is it possible to make a protocol with many times the duration of zero and one, or similar to LoRa?

1. If it is possible to control the transceiver by the baseband, then you can try. This requires documentation. But it's easier to find a separate transceiver or a scarf with it.
2. Qualkomm does not work with hobbyists, only OEM/ODM. So - only attempts to decompile and hack their BLOBs. And it is necessary, in the presence of other chips?
3. Haven't read the LoRa specs - is there a 2.4GHz band? The word LOng hints that - no.
PS It seems to me that in such a mass-market as WiFi, in principle, FPGAs are not used.
