What technologies/programming languages were used in such legendary game projects as the Demons/Dark souls series?

1 ) More interested in the technical part of this issue.
Programming languages/technologies that were used in these projects, etc.
2 ) How did you become igrodelyami at that time? What approach did people take?
was it really from the series: Yeah, for such a project we need the C ++ language and the EU engine,
we will move in this direction.
3 ) What language will be more favorable for developing games for android?
-I saw a lot of controversy about this issue ... Someone uses bundles with java,
and someone with c#, etc. I would like to hear some specifics on this topic.

1. https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Soul
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhyreEngine
2. What is "that time"? DS3 came out a year ago.
3. It depends on what kind of game. There can be no specifics on such a non-specific issue. "Games" for android are casual games with one screen, and powerful 3d projects on Unreal, Unity engines, etc.

@Mimuss

It was possible to pay attention to the inscriptions at the start of the game, among which was Havok - the physics engine.

2. I think it depends on the knowledge of technology from key developers in companies. In large projects, self-written or seriously modified third-party engines are often used. C++ is used because it gives more low-level resource management.
3. If you write a game from scratch, you will need JAVA knowledge anyway, otherwise it all depends on the chosen engine.

1) What languages developers know and what technologies they can afford to buy.
2) If something unique, then they stupidly sat down and wrote on something convenient, if they initially aimed at a certain genre, for example, a strategy, then they stupidly bought the engine from developers who had already made a strategy on it. Relatively speaking, we wanted a dune2000 clone, so we’ll buy a dune engine and make our own game.
3) Java\С#\C\C++\JS\Kotlin and dozens more. Whichever is more convenient, they use it.
There is nothing fantastic in DS and the mechanics / graphics of the game can be easily repeated on any engine.
