What software for Linux to use for video recording from IP cameras with APi?

We need some software, preferably for centos 6, which will record video from 4-8 IP cameras cyclically and will be able to give a video piece for certain dates via APi

ip-camera ip-camera is different, not all cameras have normal at least semi-finished solutions, often Win-software comes with the camera, which is like "should solve all your problems", and that's it. What kind of cameras do you have?
but I'm afraid that I'll have to solve problems separately - getting video from cameras, separately solve the problem of the video archive, and separately operate and respond to an external request to receive video from the archive from the outside.

Good software that I met - paid. Of the acceptable ones, there are zone minder and fly viewvms.
Now I want to implement recording a video stream from ip cameras by capturing an RTSP stream on Bash. Fairly easy and simple.
