What slows down webRTC?

Hey All!
when connecting more than three users to a video chat on webRTC, strong lags occur, 5-7th may not connect,
judging by the description and the "peer to peer" technology itself, everything should work pretty fast
where can there be a bottleneck (server, network, browser)?
how to catch the problem?

@Sanasol

a computer
when you communicate with 1 person video + sound the laptop notably heats up for example.
a lot of resources are required in general. send video and receive at the same time.

judging by different articles, the maximum number of connections is up to 256, so it’s embarrassing that I’m already in the top ten

Since the connection works without a server, the user sends his video stream to each user, which seriously clogs the channel. It is quite logical that lags will be present.
