What should I move my blog to?
There is a regular blog on Jekyll
It works very quickly, but the blog grows and jekyll becomes inconvenient without an admin panel, especially posting posts not at a working computer.
Moved to WordPress, but loading slower.
What would you recommend faster options?

Tidy up WP and transfer to a normal hosting.
Install a light theme on wordpress: astra, neve, zakra. Install the official AMP plugin, enable it in standart mode, these themes have AMP support out of the box. You will have a fully AMP blog cached by Google. You can also connect to Cloudflare's cdn and set it to display the real address of your AMP pages, not cdn.google.com/your_address.
Plus, I recommend the powerful LiteSpeed Cache plugin for caching and optimizing everything that is possible, although not all optimizations support AMP mode (lazzy load and something else).
For a simple blog, it will be the most free.
Don't forget to validate amp pages.
unlik , your Jekyll blog is a static HTML site. In fact, no CMS engine will work faster than this.
And in the same WordPress, in order to bring it closer to the loading speed of static HTML, you need to set up caching. In your case, you need to experiment with caching plugins. Here are some good, in my opinion, cache plugins:
I once studied "baseless" (file) CMS and of them I liked Grav the most . See if it suits you.
It has a whole set of plugins, the admin panel is one of the main ones.
In addition, there is such a thing that should sort of help you in transferring posts (I can only say "sort of", because there was no need to check in the work itself): https://gist.github.com/omgmog /900d813ee37bb541574...
