What should be the response headers for a sitemap in .xml.gz format?

There is a sitemap in the following format:
- index.xml (it includes the rest of the maps in .gz format)
- - 1.xml.gz
- - 2.xml.gz
- - 3.xml.gz
...... ..............
I can't understand why Google might not like me...
Do I need to specify additional headers or does this not affect my situation?
