What should be in the portfolio of a novice freelancer in the field of front-end development?
I welcome everyone!
As the frontder grows professionally, it becomes necessary to look for the first job or compete with competitors in the aggressive environment of freelance exchanges. It is mandatory to have created works in order to show your skill to potential employers.
Only an acute problem arises: there is nothing to show. There is no experience in the company, so that there is a place to take completed, full-fledged and multi-page sites in the portfolio, with a pinch of beautiful animation and well-chosen content (prepared videos and photos, design elements), because the content, in turn, makes it possible to perform any animation or something that will hook the customer.
Naked and similar templates from aggregator sites make it possible to typeset only dead one-pagers, well-made psds allow you to typeset with maximum adaptability. But there is no material to create something impressive. You will say: “Take it and do it for free at first, freelancing is such a love,” they say, here’s a good, full-fledged layout for you, but the problem is that complex and interesting work is not trusted by a horde of novice freelancers who are ready to do everything for free. They want quality. They need to solve problems, not have a chance to solve them.
Question: what works would you not be ashamed to put in your portfolio if you need to win the heart of a customer? And most importantly, where to get the material to create such works, if the developer, apart from a one-page layout of the same type, due to the lack of material, has nothing,
PS Do not take this as an insolent newcomer who does not want to do anything himself and climbs to the bearded uncles for an easily accessible answer. It's just that the problem is very urgent and difficult to solve. Second-rate material (psd, content) does not give room to roam and create something that can surprise.
