Why does the plugin have separate fields "Brand type" and "Taxonomy or custom brand field"?
These fields are needed to correctly send the brand value of the product.
– If you selected “Term” in the “Brand type” field, then in the “Taxonomy or custom brand field” field, specify the name of the taxonomy.
– If you selected Custom field in the Brand type field, then in the Brand taxonomy or custom field field, enter the name of the custom field.

I will answer my own comment, the name of the taxonomy is in the console-products-in the address bar of the browser- after the symbol php?Taxonomy=example-brand&post_type (you need to set the brand type=term and Taxonomy=example-brand).
An example from the official instructions for Yandex Metrica in the screenshot is in the products section - the brands subsection (but this is if you installed an additional plugin for this or registered an arbitrary field):
