What should be done before putting your product on the Internet?
I mean the legal side of the issue, the copyright of the author, for example, the license under which the product is distributed, etc. I do not work as a layout designer or designer (these are my hobbies), so I am not familiar with the topic of my question (I did not study). Advise something, thanks to which I could learn how to do everything right, a la Instructions on how to meticulously "observe" everything.

What you stated in the comment should definitely have been stated right away in the question.
> 1. Free distribution of the product without the right to commercial use, sale, appropriation, etc.
> 2. The possibility of changing / modifying the product.
> 3. Be sure to keep the author's copyright in the archive files, when distributing, and also, when using, to have on the site (on a special page or on all) the author's copyright with a link.
> under some kind of license to distribute the product? under what?
Well, for example, under CC-BY-NC or CC-BY-NC-SA - these are two quite popular notfree licenses roughly corresponding to what you wrote; the difference between them is that the first one does not use the copyleft approach ( copyleft ) - it allows authors of arbitrary works to add licensing restrictions, and the second one uses, and accordingly prohibits.
Here, for example, is what Creative Commons has to say on the subject .
You automatically have copyright, you can put a copyright sign. Register a trademark, on its basis you can demand anything from unscrupulous people.
There are different approaches. What do you have:
- design
- book
- song
- program
