The device and principles of PC operation. Purpose of its components. Assembly, diagnostics, repair - basic things. Types of interfaces. Purpose of a particular software.
1. Know the alternatives for a particular action.
Rotate photo / make avatar? It's stupid to put Photoshop for this.
Search for a crack or reset the trial? Perhaps there is a great free alternative or an online service.
Long poke the mouse on the menu items or learn the keyboard combination.
2. Be aware of the dangers.
Dubious sites, phishing, how harmful it is to open email attachments, why you shouldn't run "hardrock.mp3.exe" and why you shouldn't google "download free without viruses without sms". Imagine how it works, what it protects against, and what it does not protect against.
3. Monitor your privacy.
Do not leave addresses and phone numbers anywhere, do not confirm subscriptions to any garbage by SMS, do not leave credit card numbers, create a separate low-value e-mail, or use disposable addresses to confirm registration on dubious sites. Use ad blockers.
4. Avoid obvious pitfalls.
