What should a system administrator choose to work outside the workplace? Laptop or tablet?

Task:
Emergency technical support "in the fields"
Need 1 hour of battery life with a serious load (3G, WiFi, unzipping, good lighting, etc.)
The device will be carried with me in a backpack
Required software:
TeamViewer client
OpenVPN client
SSH client
SFTP client
SMB client
Navigation (preferred)
Prerequisites:
Good knowledge of Debian/Ubuntu/Windows
I am not very familiar with Android.
Option 1:
Sony Vaio P laptop Pros

Familiar OS and architecture
Cons:
Nearly impossible to use while standing;
Use as a navigator is difficult;
Operating time ~ 2 hours;
Keyboard, screen, Vista, speed
Option 2:
Nexus 7 tablet

Pros:
Well suited for application tasks (entertainment, navigation, etc.)
Operating time more than 5 hours
Can be used while standing (conditionally)
Disadvantages:
Unusual OS and architecture;
The program is difficult to close completely;
It is difficult to transfer files to a USB flash drive
Please share your real experience in using such devices to solve admin tasks

All this is on my Google Nexus 2013, everything suits, plus the proxmox client for managing virtual machines.

Toshiba AC-100 (it's better, of course, to find a fresher netbook) and Ubuntu on it. AC100 works 4-5 hours. OS familiar =)
