What settings to tweak to run many memory-consuming processes at once?

Hello!
There is a task to run simultaneously 124 chromes, on average, each process eats 512 MB of memory (there are several more processes running, in general it turns out 1 gig). On the server 128 GB.
When you start at the same time, some processes start to fly out, without logs, just purely ... as if the OS kills processes "quietly" ...
If you start them with a delay of 10 seconds, everything is ok.
What is already tweaked:

/etc/sysctl.conf:    kernel.pid_max = 4194303
/etc/security/limits.conf: synapse soft nofile 99100000

What other settings are there in debian 9.9 OS to think about? Help, pliz!

@poige

First, vm.overcommit_memoryset to 1 if there is 0.
