What server of the network domain is better for delivering?

Good afternoon. You need a network domain on a Free basis and on free software, not Windiws.
Tried CentOS, ROSA "RELS", SME Server, in each of them I encountered difficulties in bringing Windows XP user PCs into the domain.
Network for +/- 100 machines, mostly with old PCs on XP, but there are also 7 ...
Advise which server to choose, free, on Linux / Ubuntu, with support for Win XP and 7 machines, with support for up to 100 machines in domain.

What does "network domain" mean? AD? Well, excuse me here - either checkers (M $), or go (Linux). If the checkers - bashlyay and there will be Happiness in the form of a mouse-carrying gooey. If you go - study linux. In Linux, there are only two options for building a domain in general, and only one - for a hybrid domain with Windows - samba.
It will be the same in any distribution - if you build it yourself (or it will be the version that the authors of the distribution have collected - and in it - all of a sudden - AD DC may not work!)
Unfold, install, try. There is no other way. Just deal with difficulties

If little more than just authorization is required from AD, then it is better not to mess with Linux, especially if there is no experience.

If you need a simple domain, then you can try zentyal or something like that, or you can raise a full-fledged domain on any linux. this is if there is a domain controller, and if not, then I don’t see the point of entering it.

How I did it: I installed centos 7, went here and did everything strictly according to the instructions.
In principle, there is nothing complicated in the settings there, the domain can then be managed from under windows (download RSAT for windowsXXX). Samba itself is assembled from source codes into several commands (there, in the instructions, all this is described). I have not used it in a real network yet, but on a couple of virtual machines everything seems to be not bad.
