What's the problem with the new ram?
Good afternoon! Please, help. I bought a new RAM, inserted it into the PC in the same place where the old one was, but the computer does not start, or rather it comes to loading Windows and hangs. I took out 1 bar from 1 slot and started up with 1 bar, rebooted, stopped loading. I changed the slots and 1 time with 2 slats it started up, the PC saw 2 slats everything worked (although the PC was slightly stupid), after a reboot it does not load again. What could be the problem?
Motherboard Asus m4a88t-v evo

Anything can be. Maybe the RAM is defective, maybe the motherboard. Try to take it to the store and say it doesn't work.
of the possible,
1. Mother on 4 slots - 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 slots are used in 2-channel mode.
2. The old module could be with ECC support, the new one does not => disable the ECC in the BIOS
3. Reset to OPTIMISED DEFAULTS BIOS,
if it does not help, try downclocking the memory
4. and for dessert - your memory module is not in the
dlcdnet support list .asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM3+/M5A78L_LE_...
