Is Synology NAS suitable for such purposes?

The goal is to create a home photo and video archive on a NAS. Internet in the apartment is 50 Mbps, distributed via Wi-Fi to laptops and phones. If you take, for example, Synology DS218j and connect it with a cable to the router.
Questions:
1. Will it be possible to upload photos from all iPhones anywhere in the world to it without problems?
2. Will it be possible to access all photos and videos on it from any point of the Earth from any devices (including iPhones)? If there are, for example, tens of thousands of photos, is it convenient to view them from phones?

As Ezhyg quite rightly said - you can, but with reservations :)
Yes, Synology includes a bunch of all sorts of applications, maybe there is a photo album there. I don’t know about the exchange with the apple - the apple gravitates towards a closed ecosystem "its own in its own", you need to look.
About "gain access".
This is possible in two ways if there is a white IP, and one way if it is not. If there is a white IP, then you can either forward the DS Cloud port or register the device on the Synology server. If there is no white IP, then only register on the Synology website.
So where is the dog rummaging around here?
And here is where.
If there is a white IP, then the only question is to protect the channel from the phone to Synology. In principle, DS Cloud also does not work through an open channel and provides some protection. If there is no white IP, then firstly, you will have to trust the fact that the pictures go through an uncontrolled server (just don’t say that the admins won’t see them - of course, they have seen hundreds of thousands of such pictures, but this makes it easier for you ?), and secondly, the beginning of the connection is unencrypted and some parameters are transmitted in the clear :)
