What's the difference between Snippets and Rich Cards for products in Google Search Console?

Google Search Console has had a feature for a long time, in addition to the "Structured data" (aka snippets) section, "Advanced cards" were added.

Here I am tormented by the question - what is the actual difference (what is the point) to be updated to "cards" if they are nothing for goods do not differ from the old snippets?
