What's the difference between .scss and .css.scss?

Hello.
Why do we need extensions like .css.scss, .css.sass and so on?
Those. why .css? After all, it will still compile to it.
Or does it allow you to use both .css and .scss in the same file?

It's definitely not.
And this is definitely yes.
Probably the stray of the tool you are using (or the coder who previously wrote these files, depending on where you got them from)
