What's odd about the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne printer?
Good day.
We bought a new HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne printer and the following oddity was found on it:
When it is connected to a Cisco 2960G switch (gigabit cisco) with a 4-wire cable, the network does not work (it does not ping, and there is no indication either on the printer or on the switch). At the same time, if you connect it with an 8-wire cable, then everything works. Also, if you connect the same printer with a 4-wire cable to a Cisco Catalyst 2960 switch with POE, then the printer's network suddenly starts working normally.
Is it possible to somehow solve this problem?

It was similar when connecting an old laptop with a gigabit network card with 4 cores to a gigabit switch. It was solved by transferring the network card to 100 Mb Full duplex mode.
If there is a 100 MB mode selection in the printer or cisco settings, set it forcibly.
