What's not to like about awk?

There is a command line

awk '/including/ { sub(/^.*file: */, ""); gsub(/\/, "/"); if (!match($0, / /)) print "libavdevice/alldevices.o:", $0 }'

what does awk complain about

alldevices.o:", $0 }
               ^ syntax error

pointing to the dot before the ".o"

Can anyone explain to me what exactly he doesn't like?
