What rules should be followed for long continuous operation of the computer?
Good afternoon. There are several computers that people work on and they are turned on 24/7 (it may occasionally reboot, but they rarely turn off).
In order to extend their lifespan and keep them running without freezing up, I would like to make a sort of checklist for myself to follow in order to keep computers in good/normal condition.
Can you give advice?
Computers simple, for office tasks, Linux system

Maxim Kompaniets , computers "feel" very well during continuous long work. "Harm" all PC components and reduce their service life, just the same, private reboots. So, you don't have to worry about that.
As measures for optimal PC performance, I can advise:
1. Restart your PC as little as possible.
2. Do not place the PC system unit on the floor. Since, on the floor, the system unit will accumulate dust inside itself much faster. It is best to have it on a table / cabinet. Another good location option is under the desktop top, on special mounts.
3.Clean the system unit inside and components from dust, about once every six months or at least once a year. It is not necessary to clean everything to a shine, it is enough to go through all the components with a hand vacuum cleaner, where a lot of dust has clearly accumulated.
4. Observe the temperature regime in the room where the PCs are located. In offices, this is usually not so important because of the constantly running air conditioners.
Periodic dust blowing - once a quarter / half a year / year, depending on how dust accumulates.
Periodic inspection of capacitors on the motherboard, electrolytic capacitors may begin to swell after five to seven years of operation.
The power supply is in stock, the capacitors also swell, the computer works until it is turned off, then it does not start.
I almost never turn mine off. Many years.
Twice a year - disassembly, cleaning, replacement of thermal paste. That's all service.
The case should be periodically opened, cleaned from dust. The frequency depends on the dustiness of the room - once a month, once a year?
If there is no overheating, there are no power surges in the network, power supplies are not for 5 bucks, then in principle there should not be problems for a very long time.
If there are power surges, you need a stabilizer and a good power supply that will extinguish and equalize it all.
If the computers do not turn off - it's vice versa good.
