What processor for constant operation of 2 virtual machines?

Hello! For a mini-scientific project, you need to install a computer at home, on which 2 virtual machines on Windows7 will be constantly running. The budget is about 12 thousand rubles. There are 2 assemblies for this money:
1. On Xeon 5450-Q9650
2. i5 3570
In both 8 GB DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 6850 1 GB, I don’t know what motherboards cost.
Actually, the question is: what is better to take for such a small budget for home use, so that 2 virtual machines would constantly work and not slow down?

Instead of a discrete video card, add memory. M / n with embedded video.

See the HCL(hardware compatibility list) for the hypervisor and version you will be using. for example, ESXi has very important drivers for the network card.

u5 will be more interesting at least because of the higher frequency. Both there and there are 4 cores, but i5 has less heat dissipation and it eats less, for 24/7 virtual machines it’s the most. In addition, in the future, change u5 to u7, which you will find calmly, but under false 771 (775) it becomes more problematic to find something. Well, yes, for virtual machines, I wouldn’t bother with a discrete video card - it’s hemorrhagic to forward it and it’s not a fact that you need it) So it’s better to get memory for this money and take i5 with integrated graphics (the one you brought will do)
