What problems can be with the delivery and customs clearance of the phone?

I want to order a budget Geeksphone ZERO androphone from Spain worth 189 euros, delivery is about 50 euros. The seller strongly discourages me from doing this, because "there were problems with delivery to Russia, and the phone may get stuck at customs." But people after all order iPhones, although they sometimes get buckwheat. I really want the phone for ideological reasons, the bootloader is unlocked there and the creators do not prevent third-party firmware from rolling in.

By default, the seller sends via UPS, there are a lot of negative reviews about them on the ebay-forum.ru forum, is it worth asking for better sending via EMS?

What documents are needed? Maybe it’s better to pay not with a plastic card via the Internet, but directly come with a bank account and pay there? Ask to send an invoice by e-mail?

The phone has GPS, but no glonass, what problems can there be? Just in case, I give a link to the specification , maybe there is something forbidden there?

The seller, in principle, is ready to ship, but warns that if they are wrapped back, UPS will charge them almost like the cost of a phone, so I will be left without money and without a phone.

Well, i.e. you or the seller will not receive insurance, because technically he could not send it, because it had to be wrapped in the receiving mail, referring to this paragraph from the Russian rules.

Let your brain not soar and send - up to 250 euros, no customs clearance is needed at all.

Send by regular mail or EMS, everything will be fine. Just check if the Spanish EMS will magically turn into some kind of TNT.

It seems to me that it is expensive for its parameters, considering that from abroad =) optimus one does not lose to it in terms of characteristics, but it costs the same 200 euros with us, or even cheaper

If you send via EMS, then there should be no problems. Freight carriers (UPS, DHL, Fedex) may have difficulties with customs clearance.

Good advice: do not bother with ordering a little-known device, especially if the seller himself is not sure. Order in a trusted bourgeois store, for example, www.handtec.co.uk/
211 pounds - Motorola Defy - this is with delivery, + the store insures the parcels + if you pay through PayPal - then as a safety net it is possible to open a dispute if anything ...
If you need a device with unlocked boot, then www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/4124/motorola-atrix--sim-free-unlocked--black--
Atrix - yes, it's more expensive, but it's a fairly powerful dual-core smart - it will last for a long time + forum.motofan.ru/index.php?showtopic=1728549

If there is a choice: EMS or Russian Post when delivered within Russia… then I choose Russian Post. Couriers, and the service in EMS ... it's something. Lots of negative reviews on the forums.
When delivering from America, for example, I choose their Priority Mail service (when possible) - we go through the Russian Post.

There is wi-fi, so there may be problems. Plus, the seller sends by courier service - this means 100% will go to customs. Look here at every firefighter www.ebay-forum.ru/phpBB2/topic53228s15.html
I would not contact.

From experience, there are no problems. And it is better to send it by Russian post (USPS Mail - not to be confused with UPS commercial service!).
If the Russian Post goes, then the limit is 1000 euros per month, if it is a commercial service, then there are several thousand, as far as I remember, plus they can ask for their services (paperwork, etc.)
If you are afraid, then order as USPS Express Mail, you will see by tracking where is and what weight, if the weight has changed, then the parcel was opened.
But in general: if the seller does not want and is afraid, and you are afraid, then do not get involved. And find a seller on eBay who sends to Russia, and who has 99.8% or 100% feedback.

twice ordered smartphones from England. delivered by regular mail. the problem was with customs only in the first case - the phone stuck on it for a long time, a little more than a week. The second time everything went without a hitch (2-3 days the parcel was held at customs)

Order and do not be afraid. Up to 1000 euros per month, customs does not even twitch. If it is possible to choose EMS, choose it.
Pay only through PayPal, in this case you have the opportunity to open a dispute in case of non-delivery of the goods. No bank bill payments, what are you?!
