What path from QA to design would you suggest?

Hello!
Worked for 2 years as QA, engaged in UI/UX testing. I really liked to understand the work of the frontend, but when I undertook to implement something, I quickly lost my desire, after a while I realized that this was not mine, the only thing I liked was layout. But the love for beautiful animations, buttons and colors remained, I decided to change direction to design and UX design. Can you advise which development branch to take, what you need to do first to gain basic skills, what books to read on art, maybe?

If you are interested in UX, then I strongly advise you to start with Don Norman. He has books and you can just watch speeches at TED.
