What OS is better to teach a grandmother?

In general, this is the situation:
There is a grandmother, she knows about computers that they exist and that's it. We need to teach her how to use a computer, the goal: Skype, a bit of the Internet, and everything like that. There are several OS options to choose from: Ubuntu, openSUSE, or something else from Linux, or Windows 7/8. What is better to take for training from scratch? What will be easier to understand for a completely newbie?
And then, could you advise a firewall, like a child, so that it blocks any sites of fraud / online games / porn, etc. to the selected OS?

With Linux, it will be very easy for you to assemble an OS where there are only 2-3 buttons and a home folder.
Any distribution kit, shell - according to your customization skills. If I were you, I would leave less unnecessary elements.

In my opinion, Windows is still easier to learn.
On the second question - you can use Yandex.DNS

Or maybe Android? Skype is, the Internet is.
If not him, then Ubuntu or Mint.

Elementary OS (a build of Ubuntu) has a very simple minimalistic interface. For a while it was on my grandparents' laptop, but eventually changed to Windows 7 due to problems with the Internet settings that they had through pppoe.
