What low cost solutions to use for experiments on radio waves with stm32?

Advise modules / instructions for reworking something from the "household" / microcircuit for experiments on radio waves using stm32. Initially, there was a desire to use a wifi adapter for this (due to the undemanding to adjust and the presence of both a receiver and a transmitter at once), but unfortunately the documentation is closed, what options exist?

There was such a wifi chip for which they made an open firmware: https://github.com/qca/open-ath9k-htc-firmware
For generalized experiments with radio, it makes sense to look towards SDR, like that .
