What kind of RAID controller is needed to connect a 16-disk DAS (shelf)?

Hello!
There is a server with disks installed, a RAID array on an LSI 9260-8i controller.
The place ends. There is an idea to connect to the DAS server for 16 disks, create an additional virtual / logical RAID disk there and work with it.

• What additional controller is needed to connect the shelf? A maximum of 16 disks is planned per shelf, RAID 10
  
• Is it possible to connect the shelf through a cheap host bus adapter, for example, like this one , and manage the array through the existing LSI 9260-8i?
  
• Let's say it's all connected and working. Suddenly, the server is broken and the shelf needs to be moved to another server (which has a similar controller installed).
