I made a search engine, but I don’t know how to make it work (what language is it written in? Maybe there are specific technologies?

To be honest, it’s not entirely clear from the article - why actually implement all the search features from scratch, and not use at least the same Sphinx, Solr or others? It is both simpler and faster, and has more useful features.
