What is the second disk in a laptop for?

In "Disk Management" I found a second disk (119 GB) that I never used and it has only one system partition. Q: Can I use this disc? Is it possible to create a partition using empty space on this disk and store files there?

You can do it yourself, but it seems to me that the second disk is an SSD and the operating system should be located on it, but here everything is mixed up during reinstallation.
