What is the safest way to bring MacBooks from the USA to Russia?
Hello, I have a relative who lives in America. She has a green card. In December, as a gift to herself and me, she bought two new MacBooks worth $2,000 each. In February, she flies to Russia. And we decided that she would take laptops with her on the plane. We thought that it was more reliable because there is no trust in our mail. But the question arose about declaring these laptops upon arrival. Which hallway should she go to? We carry laptops for personal use, not for sale. We decided that both of them will be in their original packaging in order to share the pleasure of unpacking with each other. As far as I know, you can safely go along the green corridor and not pay any duty, because the goods are included in the threshold of up to 10,000 euros, but someone scared us by saying that the batch could be considered commercial and forced not only to pay a duty, but also fine. So here it is what is the best way to deliver macbooks to Russia at the lowest cost? The question is primarily addressed to people who personally brought some kind of equipment from America.
PS I saw similar topics here, but they are old, and our customs rules change almost every day
