What is the risk of giving up your first job at odesk?

The situation is this - I started working for odesk, before that I had no experience of being a freelancer. For several days I filled out a profile, passed tests, looked closely, and finally got my first job - a simple job for a couple of hours for 5 bucks to start (fixed payment for the task).
As a result, everything dragged on for a whole day, and I believe that it was the fault of the client, since he constantly changes his requirements (I realized that I would no longer work without a technical task). The client still has nothing against me, but on the weekend I won’t be able to complete the task, since I’m leaving, and it seems to me too much to postpone such a small task until the start of the new week, and the client probably needs it as soon as possible, so there are thoughts of giving up work , but since this is the first work on odesk, it's somehow a little scary.
Will I ruin my reputation with this and will there be problems later when I look for new clients?
Of course, I can register a completely new account - still no reputation, but nonetheless.
PS I did not receive money from the client

I had a similar problem, although the work was for 80 dollars.
I wrote to the client that reputation is more important to me than money. And if he is not satisfied with what has been done and wants to try another developer, then I have no problems, I have no complaints, I don’t need money.
He liked everything, he paid and left a great review.

If you do not take money from the client, then he will not be able to leave a negative review.

1. As already written to you above, if you refuse the project (and money), then they simply cannot leave you a review
2. As another respected colleague wrote above, you can also talk with the client and understand his mood. I once had a situation where a conflict arose with a client . As a result, I apologized to him (although he was to blame), he paid less money, but the review left 5 *
3. Also in Odesk there is such a "refund" button (somewhere), the function of which is to return the money. When the money is returned, as I understand it, the review for this project is "cancelled". That is, you can try to negotiate with the client and bring the project to the end: if he leaves a good review, then everything is in the black.
If bad, then simply return $ 5 to him, and the bad review will be canceled.
I advise you to take the second path, and talk with the client - then in projects this will be very useful to you. Since with hourly work, the calculation occurs almost automatically and halfway through, abandoning the project will not always work.
Also, something depends on where the client is from: if "western" (USA, Canada and other English speakers), then it is most likely adequate.
If some India, then it is better, nevertheless, to choose path 1, so as not to suffer for these 5 *.

1) First of all, you need to talk with the client and explain the situation to him.
2) All projects with paid amounts less than a dollar are not counted in the feedback.

Are there many customers there who specifically put a negative review in order to force the contractor to refuse payment?
