Video cards

What is the point of stress tests for graphics cards?

I meet different opinions. Some say that a faulty video card can be detected by a stress test, others say that these tests are generally useless, others say that the same FurMark can burn a working video card. In general, I have a confusion in my head. Are diagnostic tests really useful, and how should we interpret their results? Should ANY serviceable vidyakha withstand the test? Is it dangerous to test for longer than half an hour? And why are there situations that after applying the same donut, the computer is cut down, and the next time you turn on the entire screen in artifacts (or there is no inclusion at all)?

Yes

You can, but it's better not to. Although it won't hurt

Because the video card was faulty

If the hardware is not overclocked (and its factory voltage parameters and cooling system behavior strategies are not changed)! then stress tests should not damage the working iron in any way.
Stress tests will reveal at least problems with the power and cooling system.
If something is buggy and even more so the computer freezes, then some component in the system is faulty (it can be not only a video card, but, for example, a power supply).
