What is the performance impact of rendering ~50 divs, each with background-image and text on top?

It is necessary to resolve the issue, I could not find the answer on the Internet: let there be a website (99% of visitors from mobile devices). How much of a performance hit will it be to render 50 divs with a background-image each? The size of each image is 1000x1000, each div is valid for 1/3 of the screen, each div will have text on top. Thanks in advance.

If at the same time - bad. If you load new ones as they approach the viewport, and unload old ones, then most likely it will be tolerable. But this is only an assumption.
