What is the path of development of an amateur electronics engineer?

Good day. In my free time, I do simple "repair" of various electronics in the style: replace a swollen conder on the board, solder the connector, replace the headphone plug, and so on. Over time, this monotony became annoying and now I want to delve into the essence of the processes that occur in electronic circuits, learn how to design simple electronic things myself and get to the “numbers” (microcontrollers). Actually the question is - how to organize the process of learning electronics? What materials/topics to start with? I would like to understand why there are exactly such capacitances / inductances / resistances in the circuit. What are the principles underlying it? Knowledge baggage - physics (i.e. a superficial idea of the structure of some basic radio elements + vibrations) + mathematics 11 classes. On some forums, he advises starting with Soviet books for radio circles and collecting simple schematics from the Internet, on others, they suggest first learning TOE and matan / discreet using university textbooks, and only then pick up a soldering iron. The first way was much easier, because after reading a couple of chapters from the TOE textbook, you understand that you don’t understand anything =), but anyway, repeating ready-made schemes quickly gets boring, because you just copy and understand little. In general, I would like to hear the "correct" version of the study of electronics. but still, the repetition of ready-made schemes quickly gets boring, because you just copy and understand little. @Foolleren

start with "The Art of Circuitry" by Horowitz and Hill.
it is very well told starting with the basics, go to matan and other delights after it.

Here is a good tutorial:
radiokot.ru/start
and the forum itself is useful to read

1. Get a job at a state enterprise as a controller programmer - you will become a jack of all trades. from photoshop and program design, to assembly production technologist and programmer of MK, FPGA and analog systems, and you will learn everything and gain experience.
2. With experience, it is easy to get a job with a good private trader (from .150tr in the case of Moscow time) - there you can save up money for item number 4.
3. Study foreign language in parallel. and English
4. Get out of the country (every year in the field of electronics production is getting worse and worse, there are few personnel and there will soon be no one to learn from, the prospects are only very bad). And get safely from 5t bucks a year.
Parallel to point 2, you can also go and live for a couple of months where you are going - look around, try as a tourist, for example.
Also, private traders need results - which means they will be sent on a business trip or for an internship - another plus for English.
I also recommend a foreign language school in the target country (it is better to combine it with their university) - this is at least 6 months of a head start on finding a job there.
Well, honestly, I don’t see any prospects for engineers here, I worked with foreign countries ... now all of ours are just a gag reflex. Yes, and according to conversations with colleagues, they are not and obviously will not be in the next 10 years.
I really don’t want to leave my friends and leave, but you can’t live like that.
Another option is not to travel and not think about developed countries AT ALL. Get used to it and stop at point number 2.
