From personal experience for the south:
1. Solar collectors - even in cloudy weather they gave out water up to 70-80 degrees in autumn. Not suitable for power generation.
2. Solar panels - everywhere, but you need an accurate calculation by location - the payback is low. Extremely, they counted and counted more than once.
3. Wind turbines pay off, yes. But you need to choose places with constant winds - these are mountains, the sea coast.
So nothing more profitable than hydroelectric power plants has yet been invented.
