What is the minimum VPS configuration that will be sufficient to create your own VPN on it just for web surfing?
There is a desire to rent a VPS and create a personal VPN or proxy on it to be able to visit blocked websites. Two people will use this VPN. Will such a VPS be enough, as in the right plate in the screenshot, or is it better to choose the option on the left? Or do you need a VPS with more RAM and access to two CPU cores instead of one?

At 256mb, I had enough for 20mb/s
you have a shared ip, which can cause minor problems in the form of frequent captcha
They are trying to trick you. This price is usually per month - for example, I pay 490 rubles / month. 1vCPU, 1024Mb memory, 50G storage, 1 IPv4, hosted in Holland. And they are trying to trick you.
Most likely, it will be "underVPS" when one bucket for all, and the whole VPS is just an isolated userspace, where nothing can be done with the kernel/iptables/ipset etc
Again - shared ip. Go through such a VPN for a deposit (if it is still alive of course) or another such file hosting service - and you - bamts, the connection limit has been exhausted, wait 48 hours :)
Again, the phrase "20 + 1 ssh ports" alerted me. In general, there are 65535 ports :) - that is, you will not even have a separate userspace there, but a piece of it. And it’s not at all a fact that a VPN will work, different from the one that you will be offered (but about the danger of VPN,
In general, as always - kroilovo leads to popadalov
I'm using the same offer. Just not much more dancing when setting up without a clean external IP. The main thing is that virtualization should be KVM. openvz requires tun or tap to be enabled from admins..
any vpn will suffer on such vps, if you only watch sites and don’t download anything, then it’s ok
