What is the maximum length of a Category 5 twisted-pair cable?

In principle, it is bordered by one hundred meters, but is there any difference when connecting 100Mbps and 1Gbps per cable length? We do not take into account the 6th category ....

It all depends on the quality of the cable, connectors, connectors and the crimp itself. If we assume that everything is of good quality, then there is no difference

1. Depends on the cable and end devices.
2. Varies between 100-150m.

Some time ago I studied the issue. The length is limited to 100m no longer due to the problem of signal attenuation, poor contacts and cable quality, but due to the peculiarities of the data transmission technology. If the sent data packet does not have time to reach the second end before the second packet is sent, collisions occur, resending occurs, even if it was successfully received on the other side. I threw a cable at my own peril and risk of 180 meters, 100 Mbps worked. If there is an intensive data transfer, I think problems will be noticeable.
