What is the difference between TOR/Privacy (SOCKS5) and just SOCKS5 in Pidgin?

Hello.
There are two items in the Pidgin proxy settings:
1. SOCKS5
2. TOR/Privacy (SOCKS5)
Is it possible to set port 9050 to 127.0.0.1 for simple SOCKS5 and thus connect via TOR? Or is it necessary to select the second item for this?
What is the general difference between them?
Thank you!

The TOR network exists in parallel with the general Internet network. The network has its own gateways and its own internal resources, which are difficult to access from the regular Internet.
SOCKS5 uses proxy servers located in the general Internet segment.
