What is the difference between local and global heartbeat in ocfs2?

I can not figure out what is the difference between local and global heartbeat in ocfs2, and how to choose the most appropriate option for my case. I have two servers and two LUNs on the same storage system, both moons are connected to each server via FC with multipath. The cluster is configured for two nodes, the cluster is active and the data is not damaged during simultaneous recording.
