What is the difference between layout_alignParentTop and layout_alignParentStart?

Actually the question is not only about this. It is clear where we have the top, right, left, bottom parts of the screen. But what are START and END ?

Usually there is no difference, but if you are using a language (mode) that uses a right-to-left writing style, then you will have Start on the right side.
