What is the correct way to use lamp-server from tasksel(ubuntu) for development?

I have installed the lamp server using the installer, and now I want to hang different services on different domain names: tell me the best way to do this. I'm currently editing the config /etc/apache2/site-aviable/defult
How do I create two hosts, I know that this is done using the virtualhost directive: but in practice I have no idea how it is. I tried and it didn't work for me. Help me figure it out. What can I do so that I can simulate the operation of two servers on one local.
Just as interesting is how to make a stub to emulate sendmail. Advise me to a young ubuntologist (2 months sitting).

How about a little tinkering yourself? Here is the first link from google for "ubuntu lamp" and here is another link . In general, it is not recommended to pick default, it is better, as in the example by reference, to copy it to mysite, for example, and then make a link to /etc/apache2/sites-enabled. Good luck.

https://debian.pro/106 Try to start with this. Only you will need to deal with domains (apparently, register in hosts. Or wrap directly in DNS at 127.0.0.1).

https://debian.pro/1128 - here it is written about the stub for sendmail.
