What is the best way to take screenshots on Linux?

I am most interested in the analogue of "Screenshot" where it was convenient that when you press Print Screen, the entire screen froze and you could select an area with the mouse and when you released the LMB, the screenshot was saved to the desktop and this is very convenient.
On Linux, I can’t find such applications, they all require a lot of actions and it becomes inconvenient. And I want to take a screenshot of the area by pressing Print Screen, which I can change quickly and conveniently and save.
Are there similar utilities?
Thank you!

I hung this command on PrintScreen a hundred years ago (I have IceWM)
But this is for the screen area of the screen (I do not use it)

scrot -s /home/$USER/screenshot/%H:%M:%S-%d-%m-%y.png
