What is the best way to store family photos?
I want to collect all family photos in one place and that they are securely stored and that new photos and videos can be added there.
What options are there:
1) buy a storage subscription, but they are expensive. You need at least 500GB.
2) buy a hard drive, most likely an external one, so that all the photos are stored there and thrown there after travelling. But I don't know which is better, external hard or internal. I know that external ones can just be memory cards, be very unreliable and TD.
Help advice. The budget is a maximum of 60 dollars. (The price of an external hard drive)

There must be enough disk space on the computer for this. If not, buy a normal internal hard drive, not fast, but with a guarantee of 3, preferably 5 years.
Buy an external hard drive separately.
Periodically (once a month), synchronize your disk in your computer with an external one. You can just take some folder synchronizer, like syncbackup, set up the necessary folders in it or write a script for rsync, and just connect an external drive, run the script, after a while everything will be synced and you have a working version on your computer and a backup in "dry dark closet".
This is if it's cheaper.
If more expensive, then some NAS solution with a mirror.
